When we first heard about the book, The Penelopiad, I thought that the 12 maids and Penelope were gonna alternate chapters writing in like diary form but instead Penelope has taken over the whole book so far with her little stories about her childhood and how Helen is so much better then her at everything well i say BOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Get to the juicy gossiping maids I want to hear some stuff about Penelope from someone other than her I mean I now she had to have some flaws and been somewhat of bitch , she's a princess for heavens sake. Aren't yall just a little disappointed in the way the book has started or did yall expect the whole book to be PENELOPE PENELOPE FREAKIN PENELOPE ???

I know what you mean. Penelope is the most self centered character. Her way of thinking can probably be justified but it gets a bit annoying. Everytime she talks it is like she is whining. She was soo mistreated and so neglected. Helen is so preety and gets all the attention but is never punished. It makes you want to say Get Over it already you're Dead. Then when the maids talk they start on how they were treated un fairly. But at one piont didnt it seem like they were mocking Penelope a bit or was it just me? It seemed like they were saying "we didnt have perfect lives in fact it was worst than yours so why are you complaining". Am I wrong?
Yea I agree the maids were mocking her. Panelope is not my favorite character right now she just seems like the type of peson that pouts when everything isn't about her.It's just like be grateful for what you have babes it could be worse I mean yea your dad tried to kill you and your mom isn't all that great but come on you live in a castle you have servants for god sake and everybody thik's you're the smartest of the mortal women .......spoiled brat.........To add to her spoiled personality I think she's jealous of Helen because of her beauty it's like she just can't live with being super smart,decent looking,sweet person instead she has to also be themost beautiful....I wouldn't wanna be like Helen personally because all people know about her is that she's really beautiful and her beauty and promiscuity always seems to get her into some kind of mischeif....Helen's a promiscuous beauty where's that gonna leave her when the wrinkles set in......So enelope should get over herself and realize that being a "radiant" beauty isn't everything
I know what all of yall mean! When I read the first page, trying to decide what book I was going to read it. I was interested. LADY YOUR DEAD. Get the heck over it. You are not in the natural world, so whay are you still worried about it!
